Transforming Health in Oregon with IncubatorU and Move Oregon

Over the past month, IncubatorU has continued to demonstrate how innovation from within communities can evolve into tangible, fundable, and scalable impact—especially when paired with the growing momentum of Move Oregon. What has emerged is not just progress on parallel tracks, but a deeper integration of methodology and mission that is beginning to unlock real opportunity across the state.

At the core of this progress is the continued application of IncubatorU’s 5-step methodology—Imagine, Identify, Initiate, Implement, and Integrate—as a practical framework for action. Over the last several weeks, this has taken shape through a disciplined reassessment of projects, partnerships, and funding pathways. Rather than pursuing disconnected opportunities, the focus has shifted toward alignment: ensuring that every initiative ladders up to a broader vision of health, movement, and community infrastructure.

One of the most significant developments has been the refinement of participant profiles and ecosystem mapping. By identifying key contributors, collaborators, and stakeholders, IncubatorU has strengthened its “Identify” phase—clarifying not only who is involved, but how their unique assets contribute to collective progress. This has created a more cohesive network, positioning Move Oregon as a central platform rather than a standalone initiative.

Simultaneously, IncubatorU has leaned into strategic validation—asking a critical question: is the work fundable? This has led to a more rigorous alignment with statewide priorities, including outdoor recreation, public health, and rural access. By connecting with data-driven frameworks such as statewide recreation and health planning efforts, the work has become more legible to funders and agencies. This is a pivotal shift from vision-driven storytelling to investment-ready infrastructure.

Move Oregon has served as the primary vehicle for bringing these efforts to life. Over the past month, it has evolved into a prescriptive platform—one that not only inspires movement, but organizes it. Whether through event concepts, community hubs, or partnerships that blend physical activity with creativity and wellness, Move Oregon is increasingly positioned as a unifying layer across diverse initiatives.

Importantly, the integration of partners like NatureDose has added another dimension to the work. By connecting time in nature with measurable health outcomes, the collaboration strengthens both the narrative and the evidence base—bridging the gap between experience and impact. This alignment enhances credibility with funders while reinforcing the core belief that movement, nature, and community are inseparable.

What stands out most from the past month is the shift from exploration to execution readiness. IncubatorU is no longer just identifying opportunities—it is structuring them. Projects are being framed not only as ideas, but as fundable, scalable models that can be replicated across communities. This includes early-stage thinking around rural hubs, event-driven economic activity, and infrastructure that supports both residents and visitors.

The work is still in motion, but the direction is clear. IncubatorU has strengthened its role as the engine behind the ideas, while Move Oregon continues to emerge as the platform that carries them forward. Together, they are building something larger than a single initiative—a connected system designed to unlock the potential already present within Oregon’s communities.

The past month has been about clarity, alignment, and positioning. The next phase will be about activation.
